Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some questions that we found are always asked by new and returning parents – we hope they answer the questions that you have – but if you don’t find the answer here – please feel free to contact Deans' Office Assistant Gina Tierney or at (860) 435-5722.

When should my son arrive at school?

Varsity Athletes will arrive on Wednesday September 8 and all other students will arrive on Sunday, September 12. We hold registration (in the Centennial building) from 8:30 am – Noon on both Wednesday and Saturday. We ask that you arrive by Noon so that you can complete the registration process in time for your son to begin orientation.

What can my son bring with him?

We have a complete list of “What to bring and What not to bring” included in the summer mailing. We ask that parents take a look at that sheet and make sure you are not packing prohibited items.

When will my son find out who his roommate is and what Dorm he is in?

That information along with much more is given out at Registration. It’s quite a process, placing students in their dorms/rooms/roommates and the process is not finished until registration. III form students are not eligible to request certain rooms or roommates until their IV form year.

Does the School offer transportation to the airport and train station?

We offer transportation at a minimal cost to the students to Bradley International Airport and Wassaic Train Station (Wassaic, NY) for certain breaks – See the information from the Dean’s Office for all the particulars. Students must sign up prior to the break. We also email parents when the announcement is made to the students – we try and keep the parents in the loop for important items like this! Please make sure that you don’t book airline flights prior to 2:30pm for any break as we are not close to any of the airports/train stations and weather/road conditions can be a huge factor in getting students there.

When do I find out what classes my son will have?

That information will be provided to you at registration and our Director of Studies will be available that day to answer any questions.

Is there cell service at Salisbury?

Cingular/AT&T works best. Our reception is not the best, but improving all the time.

Where do I send my son mail and packages?

Address all packages to your son at Salisbury School, 251 Canaan Road, Salisbury, CT 06068. All packages and mail will be delivered to his mail box located on the first floor of the Main Building.

How do I find out who my son’s advisor/teachers are?

That information will be given to you at registration. All faculty members will be available on registration days.

How do I find out when my son’s game is?

Our athletic schedule is available on-line.

Can my son get into town?

On Sunday at designated times, the boys can take the Salisbury School bus into a nearby town where there is a grocery store and drug store.

How do I get my son’s grades?

Grades are posted on-line. Usernames and passwords for the Parents Portal of the Web site will be given out at Registration.

How can I get a copy of my son’s transcript?

Call Tina Gomez at 860-435-5716 or tgomez@salisburyschool.org

How does my son get money from his account?

His debit card will be issued from the bank, located on the first floor of the Main Building. He will be able to get money from the bank Monday-Saturday during the posted hours. The local cab company (Lakeville Taxi) will accept the student debit card.

Is there a laundry service?
