Dormitory Life
Dorm_Life.jpg

The central unit in a student’s life at Salisbury is the group of students with whom he lives. Life in the dormitory is one of the most rewarding aspects of the boarding school environment. Courtesy, thoughtfulness, and respect are the essential requirements of dormitory behavior.

Dormitory Faculty
Each dorm is under the supervision of one or more members of the faculty. These faculty members and their families are an important part of dorm life. They get to know each boy who lives within their dorm, and these relationships are some of the most meaningful found here at Salisbury.

Sixth Form Prefects
Each dorm is assigned at least one prefect. Their role is to assist the dormitory faculty in leading the supervision of the dorms and day students. These boys are selected by the School community for their leadership ability and serve as role models to other students within the dorm and around campus.

The Dormitories
There are nine dormitories at Salisbury. Residents are grouped by form (third, fourth, and fifth/sixth). Each has a common room where the boys are able to relax and can be used for dorm gatherings like Super Bowl or World Series parties. A television and microwave are available in the common room space. The rooms have an assigned bed, desk and chair, and bureau for each resident. All rooms are wired on a per-student basis for both telephone and data connections (Internet access is shut down during study hall from 8:00 – 9:30 p.m.). Vending and laundry facilities are located within many of our dorms.

Salisbury dormitories include:
Carr House
Langdon House
Main Dormitory
North Dormitory
Payson Dormitory
Quaile House
Rennell House
South Dormitory
Ward House
