Service and the Salisbury
Mission
Service is an integral part of a boy’s development at Salisbury School. Our caring community supports intellectual, spiritual, physical and moral development, while also creating an enthusiasm for learning. Service to others, a respect for ethnic and cultural differences, and an appreciation of one’s responsibilities in the world community are key elements of that growth. Salisbury School’s community service program offers a variety of opportunities for our boys to experience both the enjoyment inherent in helping others and the growth stimulated by working in a multitude of geographical regions with people from diverse backgrounds. Service projects provide leadership opportunities, uncover areas of interest, and create an understanding and appreciation of all that we have been given and how much we can give back.
Graduation Requirement: All Sixth Form Salisbury
students must complete a minimum of 15 hours of approved community service
hours during their 6th form year. Up to five hours of that can come
from service projects not coordinated by Salisbury School. As 15 hours of
service is a graduation requirement we ask that Sixth Formers complete their
required hours by May 15, 2011.
