CRIMSON KNIGHT BASEBALL
Coaches: John Toffey, Duane Estes, Xander Jones

Established as one of Salisbury's first varsity teams, the tradition of baseball games on the Hilltop is one that dates back to founding days of the School, and over the years, the team has enjoyed more than its share of success. Today, in accordance with the traditions established by those early teams and especially by two legendary coaches, Roswell Hop Rudd and Bob Gardner, the enthusiasm for the game, the spirit of healthy competition, and the principles of sportsmanship remain as the primary focus of our athletic pursuits.

2010 COACHING STAFF
John Toffey begins his second year on the Hilltop and baseball staff. John played his high school baseball at St. Sebastian's School in Needham, MA. where he was a stand out shortstop and right-handed pitcher. Toffey was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft after his graduation in 2001, but decided not to sign and went on to attend the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. He starred on both the baseball and hockey teams while at UMass and was named to the Atlantic 10 Scholar Athlete Team. In the summer of 2002, John played for the Bourne Braves in the prestigious Cape Cod League. E-mail Coach Toffey.
Duane Estes has been a longtime mentor and an integral member of the community in so many ways here on the Hilltop. The role Coach Estes has played in the baseball program here at Salisbury has been a huge key to the great success that Crimson Knight baseball has experienced in recent years. Estes is a graduate of the University of Kansas where he was a standout in both the baseball and football programs. His coaching career at the secondary school level here in New England has been near legendary. Estes has also worked, coached and touched the lives of so many young people at Loomis-Chaffee, Northfield Mt. Hermon, and Woodbury Forest. Duane's primary responsibility is handling the pitching staff.
Xander Jones is entering his second year with the Crimson Knights. Xander is a 2008 graduate of Ohio Weslyan University where he was a starting pitcher for four years and lettered for the varsity soccer team for three years. Xander garnered All Conference honors twice, was named the National DIII Pitcher of the Week once, and was named to the 2007 NCAC All Tournament Team. His summer collegiate league experience includes pitching for the Delaware Cows in the Great Lakes Collegiate League.
