 Andrew Will

Originally from Toronto, Ontario, Coach Will is in his first season as the Varsity Hockey coach at Salisbury. Before arriving on the Hilltop, Will spent the past four years teaching English and coaching hockey at Upper Canada College which is also located in Toronto. Coach Will lead the Blues to the CISAA finals in 3 of his 4 seasons at UCC.

Prior to his time at Upper Canada, Will served as an assistant hockey coach at Union College (Schenectady, NY) where the Dutchmen saw their overall record improve each of his four seasons with the program. In 2003, Coach Will moved across the Hudson River where he spent the season as an assistant coach at RPI (Troy, NY). That year, the Engineers went on to win 22 games and advanced to the ECAC Quarter-Finals.

An accomplished collegiate athlete, Will captained the hockey team at Union College in his senior year. After a successful season, Will was named the ECAC Defensive Defenseman of the Year and was selected as a member of the All-ECAC Second Team. After graduation, Will spent two seasons playing professional hockey.

At Salisbury, Coach Will will also serve as the Associate Director of Admissions, assist the Dean of Students Office with the Residential Life Program, be the Dorm Head in Rennell House and will serve as an assistant coach with the junior varsity lacrosse team in the spring.

 


 

 

 

John Toffey

John is entering his second year on the Hilltop. Prior to coming to Salisbury School, John played three years of professional hockey as he was a 2002 NHL draft pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning. John spent his college days at UMass-Amherst where he played both hockey and baseball. He was named to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and to the Hockey East All Academic Team. He graduated from UMass with a degree from the Isenberg School of Management.

Coach Toffey spent his prep school days at St. Sebastian's School where he helped the team to a 2001 New England Prep Championship. That year he was named the MVP of the NEPSAC. He also played football and baseball at St. Sebastian's and was a 2001 draft pick of the Colorado Rockies in the MLB draft after his senior year.

In addition to assisting with Varsity Hockey John is the Assistant Director of Admissions, a dorm associate in North, and will work with the football and baseball teams at Salisbury School.
 

 

 

Matthew B. Corkery

Matt Corkery has been a part of Salisbury hockey since the 1982-83 season, serving as head coach for 20 seasons and he has been a part of 3 New England Championship (1991, 2005, 2009) teams. His teams competed in the post season New England Tournament in 10 of the 20 seasons. Matt also served as President of the New England Prep School Ice Hockey Association for 10 years. Prior to Salisbury, Matt served as an assistant coach for one year at North Yarmouth Academy and head coach for 2 years at Kents Hill School. Matt played collegiate hockey at Western Michigan University and SUNY Cortland, serving as an assistant captain.
