Event Recap:

Berkshire Tops Salisbury in Regular-Season Finale

Salisbury took the short trip up the road to Berkshire School on Saturday afternoon for the final game of the season against one of the preeminent soccer programs in the country. The Knights played the Bears evenly for the game’s 15 minutes, but eventually, inevitably, Berkshire broke through. Indeed, over the remaining 30 minutes of the first half, the Bears’ high-octane attack rang up six goals. The final score was 7-3. After finishing their regular season unbeaten with a record of 17-0-1, the Bears will likely receive the #1 or #2 seed in the New England Class A Championships, which open next Wednesday.

“Berkshire is a good team,” acknowledged Salisbury coach Ben Walsh in a bit of classic understatement. “We enjoyed a team banquet following the game, which was a nice way to close out the season. I look forward to next year.”
