History of the Program

Sailing is the newest sport to be added to Salisbury’s roster of interscholastic teams. The program began as a recreational activity in the fall of 2004 under the direction of Samantha Lehn and Pascale Delfosse. The first varsity competitions occurred in the spring of 2008, with coaches Delfosse and Linda Ryan’s hands on the tiller. The team currently races on nearby Lake Wononscopomuc in Lakeville, as well as sites as varied as the Connecticut River, New Haven Harbor, and Long Island Sound.
