Brittni Scavotto | profile
Brittni Scavotto grew up in nearby Sharon, CT and attended Housatonic Valley Regional High School, where she was the captain of the varsity volleyball team and played doubles on the varsity tennis team. She also was a member of the jazz band, jazz choir, and acapella music groups. After high school, Brittni went on to earn a BA in Public Relations with a minor in Political Science at Quinnipiac University. Throughout college, Brittni developed an interest in education and after working in public relations for a year, she joined Teach For America to transition to a career in teaching. Through TFA, Brittni was placed as a Special Education Teacher at Deal Middle School in Washington, DC.
Brittni Scavotto has spent the past 6 years teaching and encouraging students how to self-advocate, build confidence, take risks, and develop the skills they need to be independent and successful learners. She believes that when taught these skills, students are able to lead themselves to success. While teaching, Brittni also earned a Master’s in Education at George Mason University. After being away from the northwest corner of Connecticut for over 10 years, she is excited to be back. She lives with her husband in Falls Village.
