Supporting Salisbury

Thank you for taking the time to explore ways that you can have an impact on Salisbury School and provide the same type of exceptional life experiences on the Hilltop that you, your son, a parent or a friend may have had. Your gift will provide these opportunities through financial aid, safe and sound dormitories and faculty housing, technologically current classrooms, up-to-date athletic facilities, faculty salaries and training resources and so much more. Whatever you may choose to do will place you in wonderful company - with those alumni, parents and friends who have “given back” to the Salisbury boys of today and tomorrow. Thank you in advance.

The Salisbury Fund

Through the Salisbury Fund, you can support the crucial and daily work of Salisbury School. The Salisbury Fund provides over 10% of the School’s annual operating budget, supporting financial aid to current students, faculty salaries, food, heating oil and all the items that go into running our Hilltop community. Your participation in the Salisbury Fund, at whatever level you choose, confirms to others that you - the alumni, parents and friends who know the School best - support and are excited by what Salisbury is doing. In addition, you are always welcome to designate your Salisbury Fund gift in honor of a family member, friend, faculty member (present or past) or classmate or in memory of anyone who is deceased.  Both the individual named and the donor making the gift will be recognized and named in the Salisbury Annual Report. Please show your Sarum spirit today with your gift to the Salisbury Fund! Leadership Gifts

Leadership gifts, sometimes referred to as “major gifts,” are those very generous gifts that can have an immediate impact on the life of Salisbury, and help the School realize its strategic goals - whether it is the addition of a dormitory or faculty housing, new athletic facilities, a new academic program or permanent endowment. Recent examples include the Wachtmeister Turf Field, Salisbury’s splendid academic buildings, the Curtis Boathouse and the Flood Athletic Center.  The School would be pleased to discuss Salisbury’s mission and how you can support it through your leadership gift, which may be paid in one year or up to five years. For further information contact Director of The Salisbury Fund and Alumni Relations Electra Tortorella at 860-435-5775.

Sixth Form Parent Gift Initiative

In a unique tradition for more than twenty years, sixth form Salisbury parents come together to provide the resources to fund a major capital project that their sixth form sons have endorsed from a list of the School’s priorities. Past gifts have included faculty housing, the fitness center, the athletic dome, the computer center and a lecture hall. When asked as a sixth form parent to participate in this tradition, we hope that you will reflect on the role that Salisbury has played in your son’s life, and join in with other sixth form parents and help advance Salisbury in this meaningful way.

Planned Giving

From a simple bequest through your will, to gift annuities and trust arrangements, there are many vehicles at your disposal to make a gift to secure the future of Salisbury School and help build its permanent endowment. Often, planned gifts can simultaneously provide the donor favorable tax consequences and be a key component in estate planning. Salisbury would be pleased to partner with you and your financial advisor to explore these opportunities. While including Salisbury in your estate planning, you may well benefit your own financial goals and your family’s financial future.
