Creative Writing

This elective course teaches writing skills that develops a student’s imagination and use of his or her senses, thoughts and perceptions. Depending on the age and skill level, students write personal essays, poems and stories to share with each other and with the group. Increasingly sophisticated and expressive writing develops as students gain confidence in themselves and in others in their Creative Writing class. Most writing assignments are revised following a first draft in seeking perfection as a goal. Students may choose to read their work aloud at our school assemblies.

• Careful observation
