Program: Balance, Challenge, and Opportunity 

The daily rhythm at Salisbury is carefully designed to balance academic rigor, extracurricular engagement, and personal growth. Classes meet on a rotating schedule, allowing students to approach each subject with energy and focus. Twice a week, the entire community gathers for School Meeting, while Chapel services offer moments of reflection and shared experience.

A distinctive feature of the Salisbury program is accessible academic support. “X-Block,” a flexible period built into the schedule allows students time to seek extra help from teachers, meet with advisors, pursue individual interests, or take part in activities such as music lessons and clubs. Our Rudd Learning Center enables students to receive prescriptive one-on-one instruction from a professionally trained learning specialist. Sessions are scheduled during the academic day and tailored to meet each individual student’s learning needs. These intentional support offerings cultivate independence and strong time-management skills. 

Beyond the classroom, Salisbury offers a wide range of athletic and artistic opportunities. With more than 30 interscholastic teams and a rich program in the arts, boys are encouraged to compete, create, and explore. Evening study halls, dormitory life, and a full weekend activities program round out a comprehensive experience that balances structure with freedom.

Nestled in the hills of northwestern Connecticut, the Hilltop provides both a peaceful environment for study and a backdrop for adventure. Students begin their mornings surrounded by panoramic views, move through their days across a campus designed for both discipline and community, and finish their evenings in dormitories that feel like second homes. 

Our lakefront, miles of trails, impressive Flood Athletic Center, Chandler Golf Range, and Belin Lodge Student Center allows our boys to get outside, pursue passions, and foster deep relationships among peers who become Salisbury brothers that last a lifetime. 

Weekends on the Hilltop bring a variety of opportunities: dances, cultural trips, recreational outings, and time with friends. Regular shuttle service connects students with nearby towns, while on-campus traditions and student-led events strengthen the sense of belonging. The beauty of the surroundings, combined with the energy of campus life, creates an atmosphere that is at once focused, vibrant, and deeply memorable.
