A MESSAGE FROM THE ASSOCIATE HEADMASTER
Dear Salisbury Families, I write today to provide an update to you regarding the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and Salisbury School's precautionary measures to reduce risk to the school community. Salisbury continues to monitor the situation closely through the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) and based on their guidance and recommendations we are taking the following measures:
Currently, all travelers arriving in the U.S. following travel to China are screened by the CDC at the airport of entry and depending on one's health and travel history, 14-day restrictions may be placed on travelers. Please be prepared to find alternative quarantine arrangements for your son as students will not be allowed to quarantine at Salisbury School. Families traveling internationally may experience travel delays and difficulties and need to be prepared to make arrangements for distance learning options, housing and supervision and healthcare of their son should the situation require such alternative plans.
Salisbury will continue to monitor the recommendations made by the CDC and WHO on COVID-19 and is prepared to expand both its On-Campus Stay over March Break and return-to-campus safety protocols should recommendations change.
Regardless of where your son has traveled, if he has ANY signs of illness prior to his return to campus, please contact the Health Center and keep him home until he is cleared to return to campus. Parents are advised that should your son become ill while at School, Salisbury will require parents to make arrangements to care for students off-campus as soon as possible.
Thank you for your partnership as we strive to keep our community healthy. Also, please be sure to fill out the March Break Travel Form that will arrive in your inbox this week.
