Dear Parents,
I hope this email finds you and your family healthy, safe and enjoying the summer. I am writing to clarify the School's COVID-testing plan. In order to ensure that your son returns to a healthy campus, all students, faculty and staff will undergo COVID testing prior to arrival and will participate in surveillance testing throughout the school year.
Students are required to test within 7 days prior to arrival on campus. (For example, if the student is arriving on August 24, he will need to test the week of August 17, ideally on August 17 or 18 to allow for testing turnaround.) Please remember that a molecular/PCR test is the preferred test method and rapid antigen tests will not be accepted. Documentation of a negative test must be presented in order to gain access to campus.
As testing availability and turnaround times vary widely, I would like to offer two at-home PCR testing solutions:
Vault Health https://www.vaulthealth.com/covid
Pixel by Labcorp https://www.pixel.labcorp.com/at-home-test-kits/covid-19-test (this test is for >18 yo)
If you prefer to use a lab and need assistance finding a location, perform a web search for "COVID testing sites near me". Most testing sites do not require an order, but, I have attached a requisition for your convenience.
Test results can be emailed to healthcenter@salisburyschool.org or faxed to 860-435-5749, while last-minute results may be hand-carried to campus.
Once on campus, the School will administer surveillance testing on a routine basis, the frequency and volume of which will be determined based on disease prevalence and guidance from local and state health guidance.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
In health,
Beth
