Dear Parents,
Once again, we on the Hilltop are excited to welcome our students back to campus. We hope you have enjoyed this extra time with your son. In anticipation of your arrival on either January 16 or 17, we have outlined the following protocols to ensure another successful return to campus and to maintain a healthy community for our winter trimester.
Salisbury has again assigned families to a specific arrival date and time. Should you require further details about your appointment please reach out to the Deans' Office. It is critically important that we comply with the State of Connecticut's mandates regarding the safe return to school. Please pay close attention to the specifics applicable to your son when planning your travel to the Hilltop for the remainder of our winter trimester.
In order to ensure that your son returns to a healthy campus, all students, faculty and staff will undergo a PCR COVID active infection test prior to return to school.
Testing must be performed and results submitted within 7 days prior to arrival. Please plan to test between January 10-12 to allow for test turnaround and submission of results. Only molecular/PCR tests will be accepted. Rapid antigen tests will not be accepted. Documentation of a negative test must be presented in order to gain access to campus.
Pixel by Labcorp, as well as most labs and clinics, will submit charges directly to insurance. Phosphorus, Vault and Quest Direct require up-front payment, which can be paid via health savings accounts (HSA) and will provide an invoice that can be submitted to insurance for reimbursement.
Students who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 90 days need not be tested, as long as laboratory documentation of disease is submitted prior to arrival.
Students will be tested upon arrival to campus and again 5-7 days post-arrival. Students will observe a brief, on-campus quarantine until results of arrival testing are received. During this time we will be running special remote programming and meal accommodations in order to comply with quarantine requirements. Following the quarantine, Salisbury will continue surveillance testing on a routine basis, the frequency and volume of which will be determined based on disease prevalence and guidance from local and state health guidance.
These and many other details such as athletic programming and visitor information are available on our COVID-19 webpage and updated regularly, please be sure to visit and familiarize yourself with our winter trimester protocols.
Don't forget to join us for our Parent Webinar outlining our January return, scheduled for tomorrow night, January 5 at 7:00 p.m. Please REGISTER for the event in advance.
