I just can't believe how hard the teachers at Salisbury work to understand us as learners.
My teacher makes it seem like he's learning right along with us. We gather around and create a community where learning happens because we all share our ideas.
In Chemistry we do a lot of hands-on activities. The teacher doesn't just lecture and give us worksheets. We get to experiment and try things out, which is fun.

Learning From the Student Perspective
We know that you are more likely to learn, tackle challenges, and stay engaged in a setting where you feel known, seen, and valued as an individual. Our teachers are experts at teaching boys because they build authentic relationships with you. They share their passion and excitement for their teaching topics with you, and create classroom experiences that also speak to your passions and interests.
Educational experts understand that there is no better way for you to master a skill than to work in a hands-on environment and produce actual results. At Salisbury, we know you need opportunities to learn actively, to be engaged and to be challenged. From Entrepreneurial Studies to Boat Building, you'll find a number of unique opportunities to dive in and make your learning visible.
We know that at one point or another, you'll need some extra support. Whether it's another explanation of a math concept, some feedback on a writing project, or the end of class bell interrupted a discussion you were really interested in, our faculty know how important it is to support you outside of class. If your teacher doesn't have the same free block as you, you can find some time during one of the daily "X Blocks" to work together. Many teachers are available in the mornings before classes begin, or offer time during study hall each night for student support. In addition to this, you can take advantage of our English Department's "Writing Garage" and stop by for help with grammar, punctuation, or suggestions for verbiage on writing assignments. "The Math Lab" offers boys the opportunity to ask for additional assistance on class assignments or with SAT support. Just take the initiative and ask for help. OUR FACULTY WILL BE THERE FOR YOU.
True learning is just as much about failure as it is success. In Salisbury's classrooms, you'll know it's OK to take risks, ask questions, and grow from your mistakes. Your teachers will support you in that process, providing time and attention during and outside of class. They will encourage you to learn from, and with your brothers. Your brothers will learn from you, too.
Graduation Requirements
Salisbury’s diploma requirements illustrate the faculty’s long-standing commitment to a curriculum reflecting balance and depth. Salisbury graduates have an excellent foundation for college work. They have carried a full academic schedule with a variety of course work throughout their Salisbury years.
- English - 4 years
- History - 3 years (1 year U.S. History)
- Mathematics - 3 years
- World Language - 3 years of one or 2 years of two languages
- Science - 2 years (laboratory)
- Art - 3 trimesters
