To honor the Class of 2025 and recognize the legacy of their exceptional accomplishments, this year’s Sixth Form Gift will be the Class of 2025 Broadcast Studio. Like other highly impactful class gifts, this opportunity will greatly influence the experiences and programmatic growth for all future students in the creative space of the 21st century.

Ten years ago, a $100,000 gift seeded The Beuhner Media Lab, which has become an industry-leading digital media and broadcast journalism facility. The Beuhner Media Lab is where creative minds meet cutting-edge technology and the craft of digital video production, podcasting, graphic design, and digital photography is delivered through a visionary curriculum. Currently, students master digital cinema cameras alongside Adobe editing tools for projects like stop-motion animation, sports videography, short films, and documentaries. They learn to blend video, audio, and storytelling to craft impactful narratives that resonate beyond the classroom, exploring media literacy and real-world problem-solving through innovative digital content creation with podcasts, “The Knightly News,” and professional-caliber sports broadcasts with the LiveStream Team. Salisbury is prepared to advance the curriculum to a new level and elevate the cross-curricular potential between the humanities, sciences, mathematics, and media arts. Fueled by creative and enthusiastic students and educators, equipped with the most advanced and state-of-the-art tools, the School is positioned to be on the leading-edge for educating boys in the innovative media arts space.

With a $750,000 fundraising goal, this year’s Sixth Form gift will go specifically to funding a production studio adjacent to the Beuhner Media lab. Modeled after the Newhouse School at Syracuse University, the Class of 2025 Broadcast Studio will open in the fall of 2025 on the ground floor of the Centennial Building. Other arts classes that will interface with the Broadcast Studio include: Graphic Publishing, Media Arts, Digital Photography, AP Digital Photography, and Independent Study in Film. This visionary space will give the Class of 2025 an enduring legacy as leaders in this essential component of the School’s master plan. All Class of 2025 names will be included on a plaque outside of the room and will be recognized for their role in advancing the academic mission of “Doing Everything Right for Boys.”

History of the Sixth Form Gift

In the fall of 1991, Salisbury parents began a unique tradition whereby parents of the Sixth Form banded together to collectively honor their sons and to express gratitude to the School for its role in their sons’ development.

Since then, Salisbury families have contributed more than $17M to create permanently endowed funds and new academic, athletic, and residential facilities. Endowed funds that support teaching fellowships, financial aid, and professional development have transformed the experience for students and teachers. In addition, new faculty homes, athletic playing fields, and our technology and communications network were all gifts from graduating classes. Most recently, key spaces in the restoration of Spencer Hall, the new sidewalks in the Main Academic Quadrangle, the renovation of Belin Lodge and Daniel M. Cain Chapel have been funded by grateful and generous parents of the Sixth Form.
