It's hard to believe that April has come and gone and we are in our last month of the 2018-19 year on the Hilltop!

April was filled with community service activities and accolades. We proudly accepted awards at the American Red Cross Heroes Ball; an event that honors those who save lives through blood donations and raising funds for lifesaving services. Community Service Director Rita Delgado and the Blood Drive Team have collectively done an incredible job this year in meeting and exceeding expectations in successfully reaching blood drive goals for Salisbury School and the state of Connecticut.

Salisbury School proudly accepted the Community Unsung Hero Award at the One Night for One Love event held on April 10, 2019 in New York City at The Cipriani. The award was given to Salisbury for our efforts as a community with the One Love Foundation and its mission to end relationship abuse. The event celebrated a year of important milestones and the incredible heroes who have made the foundation’s growth possible.

The Salisbury community had an exciting opportunity to make a difference and give back to others by raising nearly $2,500 in funds for Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, in honor of Kassy Flood Fritz, daughter of former Headmaster Dick Flood and his wife Sally, as she ran the Boston Marathon in memory of Sally Flood.

We also had another opportunity to volunteer for the Breaking Bread Kitchen in Sheffield, MA, where we served up another homemade meal, alongside Berkshire School, to our local community.

School spirit was strong in our annual faculty vs. student basketball game, where our Knights eked out the win by two points over the faculty. And, our varsity lacrosse team took home the win over The Hotchkiss School in our annual One Love game, with our Knights proudly cheering on the team from the sidelines.

The cast of the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee put on a wonderful performance over the course of three days, and Odyssey Day provided our community with another opportunity to share in a great performance.

Our student leaders recently joined Headmaster Chandler '11 (Hon.) P’17, Instructor of Public Speaking Tom Severo, and Director of Campus Life Jennifer Siff for a day of debate and leadership workshops at the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation in Plymouth Notch, Vermont. This is Salisbury's fifth annual trip to the Coolidge Foundation.

We had the opportunity to host retired Captain, U.S. Coast Guard, Jamie Robinson '80 on campus to introduce our spring LEADS Speaker Series, which was well-received by the entire Salisbury community.

Our community welcomed accepted students and their families to campus for Revisit Days, which introduced our new Knights to all of the opportunities available to them on the Hilltop. We very much look forward to seeing these new Knights return to campus in the fall for the 2019-20 academic year!

Our month ended on another high note, with health and wellness programming, guest speakers, and "real Friday night", which included fun house-to-house activities and yummy treats, provided by our faculty for our boys.

It's always a great time to be a Knight! For the month in photos, please see our Hilltop Highlights Month in Review.
