Hearts of Hope
Kristina Miller

We recently welcomed Liz Fernandez, mother of Ethan Canals-Fernandez '23, to our Advisory program.

Liz introduced Salisbury to the organization Hearts of Hope, which was founded in the wake of 9/11 to provide hope, love, and support to anyone facing trauma, loss, or struggle. Their flagship healing arts program provides communities with an opportunity to create and then share ceramic hearts and an encouraging note to anyone facing hardship.

Hearts of Hope also aligns with Salisbury's partnership with the One Love Foundation and our commitment to raising awareness about domestic violence, as well as our ongoing commitment to service, empathy, and our connection with the broader community.

Hearts were made, and glazed by a small group of students on Community Day, and then made available to deliver a heart to someone who needs encouragement, love, and support both within our community and outside of our community.
