Hilltop Homecoming And Alumni Veterans Panel

Alumni Veterans

We celebrated Hilltop Homecoming November 9, welcoming alumni back to campus for a fun-filled weekend.

Saturday morning kicked-off with our Alumni Volunteer Summit, where we welcomed Class Agents representing five decades of Salisbury alumni back to the Hilltop for a day of volunteer workshops with Headmaster Chandler, Dean of Academic Life Sarah Mulrooney, Reverend Kirk Hall, and members of the Development Office.

Saturday evening, our alumni were invited to a tailgate in Belin Lodge, followed by the Salisbury vs. Avon Old Farms football game under the lights. The Knights held a tight game against undefeated Avon, which unfortunately resulted in a loss in OT. However, our cheering section was strong and upbeat for the entirety of the game!

Salisbury has a long history of service and sacrifice. For the month of November we recognize and honor our alumni who have served or are currently serving our country. During halftime at Saturday's football game, we held a special program which included four alumni servicemen, including Captain Murphy Bright '06, United States Marine Corps, Corporal Nicholas T. Sant Foster ’60, United States Marine Corps, Lieutenant Colonel Jeremy Winters '94, United States Marine Corps, and Sergeant Jei Ik (Jake) Chang '09, US Army, to thank them and their families for their strength and patriotism in service to our country.

Captain Murphy Bright '06 presented a flag to Headmaster Chandler that had been flown on his deployment in Afghanistan. Murphy returned from Afghanistan in June after a year-long combat deployment, and the flag that he presented to Headmaster Chandler carries a certificate that states that it was flown for Salisbury School.

On Veteran's Day our community had the great pleasure of hearing from Lieutenant Colonel Winters and Captain Bright as they sat on an alumni panel to share their stories of Brotherhood, loyalty, and honor within the Salisbury community and as servicemen of the United States Marine Corps.

Thank you to all of our Brothers that have served and are serving our country. Now, those are Knights.
