The daughter of former Headmaster Dick Flood and his wife Sally, Kassy Flood Fritz, is running the Boston Marathon this year in honor and in memory of her late mother.

To fuel her run, Kassy raised funds to support the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, MA in their compassion for cancer patients, and where Sally received treatment and loving care.

The Salisbury community had an exciting opportunity to make a difference and give back to others by raising funds for Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, in honor of Kassy's Boston Marathon run and in memory of Sally Flood.

Our community proudly raised nearly $2,500 to support Kassy's endeavor and the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital.

We gathered in school meeting to celebrate Sally Flood and learn more about this remarkable woman. While many on the Hilltop did not have the pleasure of knowing Mrs. Flood, several members of the community took the opportunity to recognize and commemorate the tremendous impact she had, and continues to have, on Salisbury School and our community.

Kassy Flood

In response to our Knights' collective efforts, Kassy had this to say, "...When I set out to run the marathon in mom’s honor and support her amazing team at BIDMC, I was determined to do something positive in the wake of her illness and loss. Salisbury’s contribution this past week is such a beautiful tribute to mom and dad and the enduring qualities they fostered and cherished together and that you continue to embrace and build on the Hilltop. Please make sure the boys know how proud Floodo is of his School and how grateful all Floods are for your love. My running plan is to pay tribute each mile to someone or some place that mattered to Sally and spend that mile fueled by and focused on those memories—one mile at a time. Rest assured Salisbury, you have a mile!"
