May Hilltop Happenings 2019

May was an especially busy and fast-paced month on the Hilltop!

We kicked-off the month of May with college signing day for our seniors on May 1 and closed the month on the 31st celebrating the same class in a spectacular Graduation ceremony.

We proudly welcomed nearly 400 guests to the Hilltop May 3-5 to celebrate Spring Family Weekend and Reunion Weekend. Our travelers ventured to campus from as far as London and Chile to take part in this special weekend. Our 25th Reunion, the Class of 1994, had the most represented class, although all classes had a solid turnout to celebrate their milestone reunion years. Matt Cassin '94 addressed our guests by giving the Leadership Convocation, and The Salisbury Medal, the School's highest award, was bestowed upon William Hiltz ’69 at the Leadership Convocation over Reunion Weekend.

Our boys spent the following week celebrating our administrative professionals and teachers with fun surprises everyday in honor of Administrative Professionals Day and Teacher Appreciation Week, which were most appreciated. We had the great pleasure of welcoming two engaging LEADS Speakers to the Hilltop in May; financial advisor Jeff Erdmann '81 and poet Micheal O'Siadhail.

Our weekends were full of fun activities, including Brothers and BBQ, House to House, Battle of the Bands, Shakespeare on the Steps, and Sunday afternoons on the lake. We cheered on our athletics teams, with crew, tennis, baseball, and lacrosse competing in season-end championships and the theater department taking home two HALO Awards for their excellent work in performing arts. The boat building program put their hard work to the test when they launched their skin-on-skin canoes during exam week with great success!

The Salisbury Cum Laude Chapter inducted eight new members, and seven members of the Class of 2019 were named Class Agents to honorably represent their class, and the Salisbury Brotherhood, upon becoming alumni of the School.

The Class of 2019 was celebrated the last week of school with the third annual Knights of the Long Table senior dinner, the Annual Sixth Form-Faculty Softball Game on Reeves Field, a piano recital in the Chapel by our enormously talented musicians Jack Zhan '19 and David Ren '19, and an Awards Ceremony to recognize academic and extra-curricular achievements of the class. On Friday, May 31, Salisbury celebrated its 118th graduation on a beautiful day on the Hilltop, where 94 boys became proud alumni and Salisbury Gentlemen.

It's a great time to be a Knight!
