Hilltop Happenings

The Honorable Michael Wu Visits The Hilltop

The Honorable Michael Wu

The Honorable Michael Wu, Judge at the Superior Court of the Connecticut Judicial Branch, was recently on the Hilltop speaking with Mr. Donahue's history classes.

Judge Wu is a member of Governor Malloy’s largest (31) and final group of appointees to the bench. He is assigned to the Judicial District of Litchfield at Torrington, CT. Unlike most of the Superior Court judges across the State, he has a “block assignment” and handles criminal, family, housing, and juvenile matters. His legal career path was a bit non-traditional--a private practice litigation attorney out of law school, nearly 30 years of in-house practice at United Technologies Corporation, then working at Connecticut Legal Services in the arena of consumer debt and, finally, managing their Waterbury office.

Judge Wu's journey as a student included nearly six years of study in Mexico, and his law degree was earned jointly with a M.Div. while practicing law. He also served as a pastor to various local churches during that time.

The classroom conversation was engaging, and our boys were thrilled to host Judge Wu in class. It was a great day to be a Knight!
