Those who have come together to build Salisbury School are uniquely qualified to lead what is one of the world’s leading schools. Meet Salisbury's leaders below.
M.A., American University
Meg Allen is a native New Englander, born and raised in Acton, MA. She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in special education from American University. She then served as a middle school special educator for three years at EL Haynes Public Charter School. While there, she not only honed her craft as an instructor but also clarified her values as an educator: respect for different learning styles, the ability to advocate for oneself, and that with a great education comes a great responsibility. She feels passionately about helping students understand their own learning styles so that they can make informed choices about how best to succeed. For these reasons, being part of the Learning Center team at Salisbury School is a real joy. Meg also works as a study skills coach alongside third form teachers, helping those teachers implement instruction to third formers in building the learning skills, study skills and growth mindset necessary for success. She is also the Director of Multicultural Affairs and the faculty advisor for the school's Big Brothers program.
Meg loves the Maine coast, delicious food shared with wonderful people, noticing small and big ways people improve the world around them and books you can really get lost in. She lives with her wife and daughter in Lakeville.
