A lifelong resident of nearby Great Barrington, MA, Bill was appointed as director of buildings, grounds & security in October of 2001. He was attracted to Salisbury School because of its reputation of being an outstanding school. He has a passion for ensuring that the campus is maintained to the highest standards, to promote an atmosphere that is conducive to learning, is pleasant to live within, and is safe. After graduating from the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) with a degree in Plant & Soil Sciences, Bill worked at Ward's Nursery & Garden Center in Great Barrington for two years in the nursery sales department. He then moved up to Stockbridge, MA, where he spent fifteen years as the director of buildings, grounds & security of the Norman Rockwell Museum. Bill was greatly involved with the evolution of the museum from a six-gallery museum on the Main Street of Stockbridge, to a national cultural destination. During his tenure at the museum he was involved in all aspects buildings & grounds design, construction, maintenance and security.
