Scot grew up in Williamstown, Massachusetts, exploring the very same mountain ranges that surround the Salisbury campus. He attended Mt. Greylock Regional High School, where he was captain of the soccer team and captain of the nordic ski team. After graduating from Greylock, he went on to attend Williams College. At Williams, Scot played on the soccer team, majored in Political Economy, studied abroad at Charles University in Prague, and wrote his senior thesis on US intelligence reform.

After graduating from Williams in 2008, Scot worked as an equity analyst for a hedge fund in Boston, before deciding to move with his future wife, Susie, to Beijing to teach English. After five months in Beijing, they spent four months in Hong Kong, where they continued to teach English and embrace the exciting, vibrant culture.

Upon returning to the states, Scot and Susie moved to New York City, where Scot rejoined the asset management industry. After three years in NYC, he decided to return to school to transition to his ideal career in teaching.  He attended the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics in Spain from 2012 - 2013, where he earned his Master of Science in Specialized Economic Analysis, in addition to eating lots of pintxos, exploring Europe, and cheering on FC Barcelona.  Upon graduation, he worked for The World Bank, publishing for the OECD’s Innovation Policy Platform.

In 2013, Scot entered the PhD program in Economics at the University of Colorado, Boulder. At CU, he taught microeconomics, macroeconomics, statistics, and environmental economics.  Upon earning his Master of Arts in Economics in 2015, he joined Salisbury School to focus on his passion for teaching. Scot lives on campus with his wife, Susie, and their Australian Shepherd, Izzy.  His hobbies include soccer, skiing, cycling, hiking, live music, backyard sports, photography, and travel.
