Varsity Wrestling vs. Greens Farms Academy

Event Type: Regular

Date: January 9, 2019

Event Recap:

Wrestlers Victorious!

Salisbury and Greens Farms hit the Flood Center mats on Wednesday afternoon, and the Knights prevailed, 30-24. There were four matches actually contested; for the other ten weight classes, one or the other team did not have a wrestler competing. In five classes, neither school had a wrestler, resulting in five “double forfeits” (no points for either team). In the other five classes, Salisbury claimed three forfeits (18 pts.) and Greens Farms two (12 pts.).

In actual combat, each team claimed two wins. Cameron Cole gave the Knights a win at 138 lbs. with a first-round pin in the opening match of the competition. The other win for Salisbury came at 113 lbs., where Jaeho Sung pinned his opponent 16 seconds into round two. Jackson Mullaney, Peter Schellbach, and Vincent Sprenger all collected points for Salisbury via the forfeit route.

In an exhibition match, not included in the scoring, Bayron Canales-Lopez also picked up a win.
